Hi! I’m Hazel.
I design systems & tools
Right now, I’m the Director of Design Infrastructure at Duolingo. We build Duolingo’s design system, our internal tools where curriculum designers create immersive learning experiences, as well as creative technologists who bridge the gap between Design and Engineering to build technology solutions that help us do better work, faster.
In 2012, I founded Instagram’s first content design team.
In 2016, I started Instagram’s first design system.
In 2020, I worked on the design system for the Meta rebrand.
In 2021, I left Meta to help start a design architecture practice on Zendesk’s design systems team. When they were unexpectedly acquired by a consortium of private equity funds, I left for my dream job at Duolingo.
